Some impressive stats on illegal music sharing
According to a new report from Entertainment Media Research, more than 2/3 of all people share music with their friends, whether that's via the internet, or via copying and swapping music from their ipods:

67% share music with their friends, with 15% sharing “a lot of it”

15% have swapped hard disks or iPod/MP3 hard disks to share music (rising to 17% of legal downloaders and 24% of illegal downloaders)

31% use Instant Messenger to share music with the majority downloading and sending

33% create compilations to share with friends
-
22% use email to share music
-
50% do at least one of the following activities to share music: use IM, use email, share hard disks or download illegally
The report further indicates that social networking websites like Myspace have a profound impact on discovering new music.

Every single mountain features a peak. Each valley has its minimal level. Life has its ups and downs, its peaks and its valleys.No one is up all of the time,nor are they down all the time. Difficulties do end. They may be all resolved in time.
I guess that sharing music via the internet or via swapping hard drives is not something you can stop. As long as people do not make a profit out of such activities, well, I don't see anything wrong with that. The Internet evolved and offers free access to information, music being included in this category.
