From sticky to slippy
In this interesting presentation, made available through slideshare - Fallon planner Aki Spicer explores 10 trends marketers should know about social networking.
Amongst the many interesting insights, the following is brilliant in its simplicity: Traditional marketiing is all about trying to lure people to visit a website and then keeping them there. In other words: creating stickyness. Marketing in the conversation area on the contrast is all about making the remarkableness of a brand portable and slippy so it can pop up on all kinds of social media. Quoting Spicer: "As information disperses widly/widely through personal channels, marketers must revert from "sticky" mentality to "slippy".". Therefore: every brand should ask itself this question: are we slippy?
