Meanwhile in Dublin

Waking up this morning as an award winning agency in Ireland really takes the edge off a Champagne hangover.

We had planned to keep drinking water between glasses of wine, but when you win your first Irish Digital Media Award, in the best website design ahead of some of big names in the Irish digital and interactive scene, well, your plans for constant hydration kind of take a back seat to serious celebrating.

So, in that cheesy Oscar way, we'd like to thank BT2 our brave client-partners, who sat beside us last night and watched us sweat (literally) as the nominations were read out. The BT2 guys don't just talk about taking risks with their brand they practice it. And both our nominations - artdublin.ie and our award winning digital brand platform  bt2.ie in the same category - really prove that.

It's nice to be a winner.

This picture is taken from our new office at the Hungaria site in Leuven. We're going to move to the top-floor of the Hungaria building (somewhere around november) and this is what you'll see when visiting us and looking through the window. Heaven is just across the street ;-)

artefact festival

Leuven is breathing interactivity - even more these days thx to the artefact festival, an art and new media spectacle in the STUK (cultural center). I went there this evening and found it really inspiring. the works vary from idyllic dear-in-a-forest fairy tales (The endless forest), to cutting edge technologies (Life Support Systems: transferring a real orchid into a virtual organism) and amusing video installations (Man Os 1: what if your operating System on a mac was a person?). there is an obvious shift in the new media art scene away from pure technology based 'spielereien' to an intelligent manner of using interactivity and the digital media as a tool to express the message. just like in advertising nowadays :)
i got as well a bit sentimental remembering my own arty times: four years ago I participated as well on a new media festival in Italy with du·bi·ety.
The festival still takes place until saturday.
